1. Who we are
The Chinguetti Labs VMS apps are built by Chinguetti Labs and published by AfriNetPro LLC, a Barro Services LLC company. In this policy, “we” and “us” refer to the publisher of the apps.
2. Your organization’s own server holds your data
The apps work with a VMS Server that your organization installs and runs on its own Mac. Camera video, recordings, events, site maps, user accounts and settings are stored on that server, under your organization’s control. The iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac viewer apps connect only to the server address you enter.
We do not operate your organization’s server and do not receive your camera video, recordings, account details or other records. Your organization decides who can see which cameras, how long footage is kept, and whether anything is shared outside it. For information held on your organization’s server, including access or deletion requests, contact your organization’s VMS administrator.
3. What the apps send to your organization’s server
- Sign-in: your username and password are sent to your server to sign in. The apps keep the resulting session in the device’s Keychain and do not store your VMS password.
- Viewing: requests for live video, recordings, events, maps and reports, so the server can return what your account is allowed to see.
- Mobile camera (optional): when you start broadcasting from an iPhone or iPad, camera video and, only if you turn it on, microphone audio are sent to your server.
- Presence (optional, iPhone): if you turn on presence for a site, the app sends only “arrived” or “left” for that site, a rough accuracy and a random identifier created for this app install. Your coordinates are never sent, stored or logged.
- Placing a camera on a map (administrators): the iPhone’s position and compass heading are used while the placement screen is open; only the camera’s new position is saved to the server, when you tap Save.
- Exports: evidence clips you export are saved where you choose, such as your photo library or Files.
4. Information kept on your device
The apps remember the server address, your account name and display preferences in app storage, and your session in the Keychain. Mac VMS Viewer saves snapshots to your Pictures folder and exports to your Movies folder. Demo mode plays sample video included in the app and does not connect to any server.
5. What we do not do
The apps contain no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking or data-collection SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
Your organization can choose to connect its server to other services, such as e-mail, SMS, push notifications, cloud storage or an AI provider. Those connections are set up and controlled by your organization on its server.
6. Device permissions
Each permission is optional and only requested when you use the feature that needs it: camera and microphone (mobile camera), location (presence and camera placement), adding to your photo library (saving exported clips), local network (connecting to a server on your network), notifications (alerts) and Face ID (unlocking the app). You can change these at any time in your device’s Settings.
7. Retention and deletion
Signing out removes the session from your device and stops presence monitoring; deleting the app removes the information it kept on the device. Footage, events and accounts on your organization’s server are kept and deleted according to your organization’s settings; ask your VMS administrator to access, correct or delete them.
8. Children
The apps are intended for organizations and their staff, not for children, and are not directed to children under 13.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the apps’ practices change and show the date above. Questions about this policy: info@chinguettilabs.com. Please do not send passwords or camera footage by e-mail. See also the VMS support page.
